SAWC Fall: A Sneak Peek Series

(Part Three) Unveiling the Future of Wound Care: Prepare to embark on a journey that could forever change how we heal wounds.

Welcome back to the third installment of our exclusive sneak peek series in anticipation of the 2023 Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC). For those of you working tirelessly in the wound care industry, we understand the importance of staying ahead of the curve and being up-to-date with the latest innovations and breakthroughs. Advancements in wound healing technologies continue to redefine the landscape of wound care. This year at SAWC, we expect to explore cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that will transform how wounds are managed and treated. Our company is based in sunny Florida where approximately one in ten people have skin cancer. The abstract listed below is a study exploring treatment after removal of skin cancer – you won’t want to miss the abstract presentation!

Effective Protection for Post-Mohs Care to Enhance Healing

This study explores the use of botanical anti-microbial collagen hydrogel as a post-Mohs surgery treatment to enhance wound healing and minimize complications. Mohs surgery is an outpatient procedure used to remove skin cancer, often resulting in tissue loss and scarring. Facial melanoma cases were examined during this study, with FloraSeptic hydrogel applied directly to the wounds post-surgery. The results showed rapid wound closure within 5 days, normal skin color restoration, and no surgical indications at 30 days. The discussion highlights the hydrogel’s potential benefits in promoting healing, anti-microbial protection, and maintaining optimal pH levels, as demonstrated in previous studies.

Make sure you read the PDF link of this abstract in the above text. If you want to view the final abstract poster, the reveal will occur during the SAWC Fall Conference, November 2-5, 2023, at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. We will post and publish on our website for public viewing mid-November for those unable to attend the SAWC Fall Conference.
